浅草、日本らしいお寺と庭園。東京で最も観光客に人気なスポット。

As a resident of Tokyo, I would like to share with you some of the highlights of this city. This time I will talk about Asakusa.

東京に住む私が、この町の見どころをご紹介いたします。今回は浅草についてお話します。

Asakusa is a convenient place for tourists arriving in Tokyo to go right away. It can be reached by subway or train, and tourist spots can be visited on foot. It does not cost much and can be enjoyed in half a day.

浅草は東京に着いた観光客がすぐ行ける便利な場所です。地下鉄や電車で行けて、観光スポットも徒歩で回れます。お金もかからず、半日もあれば十分楽しめます。

Asakusa has several tourist attractions centered around Sensoji Temple. This temple is the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo, visited by more than 30 million people every year from Japan and abroad. It is about a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Subway Station. The landmark Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate), the temple grounds, and the five-story pagoda are just a few of the many attractions. The approach in front of the temple is known as “Nakamise-dori,” where visitors can enjoy souvenirs and food.

浅草は浅草寺を中心に観光スポットがいくつかあります。このお寺は国内外から毎年3000万人以上が訪れる都内最古の仏教寺院です。地下鉄浅草駅から徒歩5分ほど。ランドマークの雷門や、境内、五重塔など見どころが充実しています。寺の前の参道は「仲見世通り」として知られ、土産品や食べ歩きも楽しめます。

In my opinion, Asakusa is not bad, but it is too touristy. It is a noisy place full of tourists. I like calm temples and shrines, so I don’t feel at home here.

私の感想としては、浅草は悪くはないけれど、あまりに観光地化され過ぎています。観光客がいっぱいで、騒がしい所です。私は落ち着いたお寺や神社が好きなので、ここはどうも落ち着けません。

It may be interesting at first because there are many souvenirs that foreign tourists would enjoy. Once there, I think it is enough. In the meantime, here is a route that may be helpful.

外国人観光客が喜びそうな、土産品が多いので、最初は面白いかもしれません。一度行けば十分だと思います。一応、参考になるようなルートをご紹介しておきます。

　The cherry blossom season from late March to early April is especially recommended. Note that you need to pay to go up to Tokyo Sky Tree.

３月後半から４月始めまでの桜のシーズンは特にお勧めです。なお、東京スカイツリーに上るにはお金が必要です。
